I've seen people talked about this movie on Tumblr when the trailer was released, August 2010. Yet I still haven't seen it. Natalie Portman is actually my number 1 favorite actress, so I kind of feel like a failure now lol. I only watched the first part of the movie, I promise I'll watch this in the theater.

Look what I found from chillin' on Twitter. I saw Raspberry Field's vocalist Alice Soy tweeted about this indie Japanese band named Kimonos.

"Kimonos was formed in 2010 by Leo Imai and Shutoku Mukai from Zazen Boys.

Their music is a blend of vintage synths, post-punk riffs, heavy beats, and folk lyricism.
Both cold and passionate, both stoical and decadent, both futuristic and nostalgic, their debut album is a fitting soundtrack to the manic intensity of Tokyo City.
Drummer Greg Saunier from Deerhoof and bassist Ichiro Yoshida from Zazen Boys also make ripping guest appearances on the record."

Wow. The last time I wrote something on this blog was two years ago.. So here I am, gonna update this ol' blog o' mine again now. Let's keep up with my current life first, shall we?

I am now a MAJOR fan of Korean music (and Korean dramas.. and Korean guys too, not gonna lie). Many of my friends asked why the heck a girl who loves vampires, gothic stuffs, Metallica, etc can turn into a Kpop fangirl. Well, because the Korean music industry is very interesting to me. Everything about them is just so.. entertaining. Asia got so many talented people, I didn't notice that before.
I am now a fangirl. A TVXQ fangirl, to be exact. People should just deal with it. I often spazz on my Twitter about TVXQ, because they're awesome like that.
I am now in love with a guy named Kim Jaejoong. This is related to the previous point.
I am now on my 2nd year, almost finished the 3rd semester of college. I'm taking a major of Marketing.
What else.. I now have a new laptop and a Blackberry? Lol..
Seriously, I don't think my life got a lot of changes these past two years. Because I am THAT boring :)
Oh, I got a new Tumblr.. Here. Filled with cute Asian stuffs and TVXQ. (duh~)

The Howling

the mighty nocturnal creature howled at the moon. as if the the entire universe would cry and sing along with his ode. then he stopped for a second, just so he could hear the echo. it was definitely something else. he heard a graceful, perfect symphony. unexpectedly, she came down to earth, tried to reach his head. the moonbeam shone so bright as she stepped her feet on the ground.
"stop howling," she said. "you're breaking my heart."
he saw one drop of her crystal tear, streamed down her face.
he howled for the last time, then ran as fast as he could through the dark of the night. he left her on the hill. he did not even look back at her.
everytime he stares at the moon, all he can think of is her.
artemis. he howled her name every night. he howled artemis.
he howled her name, but it only made her cry. the most devastating irony ever existed.
the mighty nocturnal creature then realized, he could never make her happy.

This Week's Highlight

It's been awhile, I know. I just finished the midterm exam last week and these past few days have been kinda hectic. So here is this week's highlight.

Let the Right One In. A Swedish vampire-theme horror movie directed by Tomas Alfredson, adapted from the novel of the same name by John Ajvide Lindqvist. The vampire doesn't sparkle, so it must be good :p If you have a weak stomach, this movie is definitely not suitable for you, since it's gory. The one thing that I like about this movie is the originality; brutal yet poetic in some way. I've never felt this essence when I watch a Hollywood movie. Just saying. Watch the trailer.

Hollywood decided to make the American version of this movie, Let Me In. I haven't seen the movie, because I don't feel like watching it. Personally, I prefer indie movies over the Hollywood movies. Judgemental much? I'm afraid so :p

Insomnia

Self explanatory title. It's almost 3 am right now and I can't sleep. So I end up writing an essay (wtf haha), blogging, and listening to the radio. Wow i just knew that 87,6 Hard Rock FM got great songs played in the middle of the night :p I should stay up late more often. Lol joking.

Anywayyyysssss. College is starting to be a real pain in the arse. Why? Cuz I keep on getting B's, and my mom is being so Asian - she wants me to be a 'straight A' student in my class lol. But thanks mom, I actually need your Asianness when it comes to education (bs lol but yeh, seriously x]).

OMG I've watched some cool movies lately, such as Amelie, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (YES, another Guy Ritchie's movie), and Ong Bak. Gotta say all of them are rated 4 stars out of 5! :D But hang on, I give 5 starts for Amelie. It's such a marvelous movie.

A Girl & A Moon Man

Once, a girl asked a Moon Man.

"Moon Man, why are you so old?"
The Moon Man replied, "I'm not old, little girl. You're just way too young for me."
There was an awkward silence between them. They have known they could not be together. The love between them don't stand a chance. They knew it all along.
"But tell me, Moon Man, if I come back again in the future," the girl was trying to convince the Moon Man, "and I will come back, will you still get older?"
The Moon Man laughed. This girl is naive and pure beyond compare, he thought. But who cares, this is why I liked her in the first place. The Moon Man smiled at her.
"I will wait for you," also sounded as convincing as the little girl, "and no, I won't get older."
The girl looked satisfied with his answer. This is just what she wanted to hear from her lovely Moon Man.
"Allright, Moon Man, I promise you. I will return. By the time I turn as an adult. As a true lady, just like my mother."
The Moon Man came closer to the little girl, and hugged her for quite a long time.
"And I promise you, my little lady, I will not go anywhere. I will always be your Moon Man."
The little girl was about to cry because she had to leave her very first love. And she realized that the time will come. The time when she and her true love are going to spend every moment together.
Together in eternity, serene life on the moon.

P.S.: Lol sorry for this random post, this short story just popped in my head a couple hours ago x] this story is kinda pointless and unclear, yet I like the idea of the little girl's first love with a Moon Man. So sweet and random.

New Moon

So me and my bestfriend are planning to watch this movie together next month. You know, planning on drooling, sighing.. and fainting on every awesome scenes of The Wolf Pack.. (LOL jkjk xD) But seriously, those guys in wolf pack are gonna be the bomb. And The Volturi too. Hopefully. Cuz the first Twilight Saga movie, which is Twilight, wasn't as great as I expected. So I hope Chris Weitz have made a good interpretation of this sequel as a director.

See you guys in theaters on November 20th! :D

when a man says nothing, there's always something.
me and him. we sat on the grass in my backyard and looked up to the sky. we were stargazing in the middle of the night.
he sighed. i asked, "whats wrong?"
he answered, "nothing." he smiled.
the purest thing i've ever seen, his smile.
i was thinking, there must be something. something wrong.
"is it me?" i asked.
"no, it's not you," he answered. and then another smile.
"is it you?" i asked.
he laughed. "yeah, maybe it's me," he answered my question. then he smiled. again.
we both kept in silence.
"cheer up," i said. i was trying to ease any kind of thoughts that bugs his mind.
"i will."
another silence. it was a long one.
i shruged. it must be because of me.
"i'm sorry," i said.
"for what?" he asked.
"for anything that i've done wrong."
"you didn't do anything wrong."
"really?"
"yeah."
then another silence. it was even longer than before.
"i love you," he said.
"i know," i answered.
i didn't see his face, but i could tell that he was smiling.
his smile. i never got bored nor had too much of it.
"i love you too," i said.
"i know," he answered.
when a man says nothing, there's always something.
but a man who doesn't always tell you what is bugging on his mind, just so he wouldn't hurt your feelings, is actually really sweet too, dont you think?

When It Rains

I love rain.
I love the sound of it, the temperature's change from warm to cool caused by it, the smell of it - smell of wet soil and grass. It's perfect.

Rainy day is definitely my favorite time especially when the twilight comes. I like to sing and play my guitar on rainy days in my bedroom. I find rainy days very inspiring.

I also have this fun fact about my relationship with rainy days: it's proven that a rainy day usually brighten up my mood.
I've got a playlist which contain some songs that I listen to on rainy days. If you share the same interest about rainy days, then you should at least try listening to these songs. Depends on what kind of songs do you like, though. Haha. Anyways, here's my track listing:
